Dear A&WMA – LMSS Member: 

We are excited to announce the launch of the 2022 A&WMA – LMSS Mentorship Program!

If you are a young professional (35 years or younger), this program is great for your professional development; please consider signing up to be a mentee! You will be paired with a more senior practitioner mentor, so you will have a new professional friend that can help you develop and advance in your career. (Got a problem or a question and don’t want to ask your boss? Call your mentor for advice instead!)

If you are a more seasoned professional – it’s time to give back! Please consider signing up to be a mentor; we have several young professionals in our organization that would greatly benefit from your knowledge and advice. One conversation with you can provide a lot of help to a more junior professional in your field.

We will do our best to match you with a mentorship partner who is uniquely suited to you. The program will run from July 2022 to December 2022. Mentors and mentees are asked to meet (virtually or in-person, if you are comfortable) at least once a month, but we encourage you to meet or talk/text/email (based on your preferred communications) more frequently if you can.

Each month, you’ll receive a suggested topic and/or project covering an area of career development. For example:

• Business Development: Work with your mentor to publish a blog or article on a new development in your field and discuss methods to build client relationships
• Employment Advice: Review your resume with your mentor for feedback on how to standout to potential employers
• Networking: Attend a professional event, conference or seminar with your mentor, or discuss with your mentor ways in which to improve your Linkedin profile

You must be a member of the Lake Michigan States Section to participate. Local Associate membership is $50 or $20 for students. Sign up can be done on the website.
