December 20, 2022, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed amendments to the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Lime Manufacturing Plants. This action addresses previously unregulated pollutants emitted by the source category and will protect air quality and public health by reducing emissions of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), including hydrogen chloride, mercury, total hydrocarbon, and dioxin/furans.
