On February 15, 2023, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized amendments to address a gap in the Miscellaneous Coating Manufacturing (MCM) National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP). The NESHAP was promulgated in 2003 and amended in 2006, and the required residual risk and technology review (RTR), due within eight years of promulgation, was finalized in 2020. After promulgation of the final rule, EPA agreed to finalize additional standards under a court-ordered deadline to address unregulated emissions from the MCM source category by February 16, 2023.
