CCDD Facility Mapping Tool

After the promulgation of the Clean Construction or Demolition Debris (CCDD) rulemaking on August 24, 2006 by the Illinois Pollution Control Board, and modified on August 27, 2012, CCDD facilities began operations all across the state. Although the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) has an on-line database of these facilities, A3 Environmental Consultants (A3E) created a more comprehensive open access ArcGIS map of CCDD facilities in Illinois. The purpose of the CCDD GIS Map tool is to provide the most up to date information about each CCDD facility so that others in the industry can find it with a click of a button.
Accurate information is paramount in our industry. Many CCDD facilities close without notice or change their entrance locations and typically do not advertise their existence, so a simple Google search oftentimes produces poor or zero results.
The CCDD GIS Map includes all the relevant information in one spot. On the map is their location (both longitude/latitude and street address if available), hours of operation, site contact, phone number or email address, their IEPA Number and more. Additional information provided in the tool includes overlays of the IEPA Maximum Allowable Concentrations (MAC) for each county. Users can determine if a project site is located in or outside a Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), a Populated Area, or within the City of Chicago Corporate Limits and instantly know what MAC tables apply.
Lastly, typing in the address of a project site will provide the pertinent information previously mentioned plus the designated truck routes in the area. But, if there is not a CCDD facility close to the project area, the GIS Map also provides information on nearby Subtitle D facilities.
A3E encourages you to reach out if you have any updated information on a CCDD facility or any suggestions for improvement. https://a3e.com/ccdd-map/ For questions about the Illinois EPA Beyond the Bin mapping tool contact IEPA at [email protected]
