EPA Proposes NESHAP Amendments - Lime Manufacturing

Posted by [email protected] on Feb. 19, 2024

On January 31, 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed amendments to the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for Lime Manufacturing Plants. This action will protect air quality and public health by reducing emissions of previously unregulated hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), including hydrogen chloride, mercury, organic HAP, and dioxin/furans.  We estimate that installation of controls for these pollutants will result in a reduction of total HAP by the lime manufacturing industry of 905 tons of hazardous air pollutants each year.   For more information about this rulemaking, please visit https://www.epa.gov/stationary-sources-air-pollution/lime-manufacturing-plants-national-emission-standards-hazardous
