The A&WMA Lake Michigan States Section and the Union League Club Environmental Committee are pleased to invite you to join us at the June 18, 2024 Environmental Breakfast / Interactive Workshop designed to help shape Cook County’s zero waste and circular economy future! This event invites LM-A&WMA and Union League Club members and guests to learn more about the solid waste industry in Cook County, and the draft updated Cook County Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP). The SWMP is a plan that provides recommendations on policies, programs, and infrastructure to help reach the goal of diverting waste from regional landfills. The plan also provides guidance on how Cook County will implement, promote, and expand zero waste and circular economy best practices over the next five years and sets the goal of achieving a 45% suburban Cook County diversion rate by 2030. LM-A&WMA / ULC members and guests will have the opportunity to give input on the draft updated plan.
